Stocking Store

Over the weekend, I finished stitching Santa's Stocking Store.  This one went quick and I'm excited to stitch next month's reindeer!

Chart: CCN Santa's Village, Santa's Stocking Store
Fabric: Wichelt 32 count amber linen (2 over 2)
Floss: as charted

As you can see, I did not stitch the striped border along the top of this chart.  I think the holly branch border is just too pretty to have to compete so closely with the red and white stripes.  So far I think I like it.  Eventually, I think I'll finish stitching the red/white border as a frame around the finished piece.

Santa's Stocking Store

I finished Santa's Stocking Store just in time to see the very cute Reindeer that I get to stitch next month.  I can't wait to get the pattern.  Happy Stitching!

2nd and 3rd houses finished

Hi everyone!
I have been trying to post for a couple of days.  I have been unable post pictures, not really sure why.   I have finished Poinsettia House and North Pole Post Office.  I started Mrs. Claus' Cookie Shop but I have found I am off a half of a stitch. :(  So I will send a good part of today unstitching.

Off to Unstitch!

Happy Stitching!!

Mrs. Claus

I finally finished stitching Mrs. Claus' Cookie Shop last night.  Just in time to keep up with my one chart per month goal.

I'm stitching on 32 count Wichelt Amber Linen (2 over 2) and used all DMC colors as charted for Mrs. Claus' Cookie Shop.  I'm loving how this piece is turning out.

Please excuse my wrinkled fabric.  You can see more pictures on my blog Sweet Coast Stitches.  Happy Stitching!

Santa`s house

Hello everyone.
I have finished Santa`s house and moving onto `Poinsettia Place`.

Love the way the colours are coming together.
I`ve stitched further last night on this,so that`s great.
I`m off to finish vine and work upwards to start using
Sampler Threads `Shutter Green` which my choice of greens goes with as well.
Love the variegated look.
Happy Stitching,

Row One Complete!

The first little street in the Village is Complete! I'm pushing myself to get a head start on the side borders so I am not stuck doing red and white, red and white, red and white at the end.

Mrs. Claus Cookie Shop

I finished today Mrs. Claus Cookie Shop. I didn't sew the button on, going to do that when they are all done.

Cookie Shop

Greetings Friends,

I am happy to report that Mrs. Claus' Cookie Shop is complete.  As I start Spring Break with snow on the horizon, I can't help but think stitching Christmas projects in March is appropriate.

Take care,
Diane

Mrs. Claus' Cookie Shop

Mrs. Claus is adorable. I love her white hair, little red dress and apron. I'm not using the buttons so you can see the stitched cookie banner hanging on the cottage. Now for cottage #5... will I come down 4 threads and start the red / white strip? Or 2 threads?

A finish - finally

I finally finished Santa's house.  I was hoping to keep up with these but work has just been crazy so far this year.   Doesn't leave much time for stitching.

Not sure how I am going to finish them yet.   Maybe cube?   I left the border off because I am not sure
about the finish.

I am stitching them on 18ct Aida from PTP in earthen.

Love seeing everyone's village taking shape!

Part Three All Done

Hi everyone, I finished up part three over the weekend, can't wait until the next part arrives in the mail :)
Katrina

N.P. Post Office

I officially finished stitching this on February 28th.  Just barely making it in time to keep up with my goal of finishing one chart each month.

I can't wait to start sewing my buttons on, but that will have to wait until I can get rest of the charts finished.

Here's my progress on the whole piece.  I'm loving the way the sky is full of snowflakes!

Happy stitching everyone!

Part three finish!

I really worked hard last weekend to make progress on the post office so I could finish it before the next pattern came in at my LNS. Success! I've even got a little head start on the borders for #4.

First house is done!!!!

No picture, but I have finished Santa's house.  Took the fabric off the q-snaps and had a nasty surprise. I'm doing all the santa series on one piece of material.  I realized that the size of my material was sent to me wrong.  I had requested a piece big enough for a 3 inch border around.  So, I started my first pattern in 3" and down 3".
With just looking at the material after finishing the first house,I knew there was probably a problem.  My next step was to do the bottom sections all the way across and see what would happen.  So, I might be safe just by the skin of my teeth..  There is 1 1/4" of fabric left.  I had planned on making a quilted banner with a hanger so I should be safe.  Now to check down for 3 houses....have to find a yardstick

Till then Happy Stitching,
Clare.

North Pole Post Office

I finished stitching 'North Pole Post Office' today. I'm not using the buttons, but I love birds so I added my own little stitched dove to the top of the weather vane. He does look more like a duck than a dove. hahaha I just saw next month's 'Mrs. Claus' Cookie Shop and I'm excited to stitch some cookies.

Village Post Office

Greetings Friends,
Santa's Post Office is "in the books".
I'm so motivated to stay up to date with this piece and I'm enjoying every stitch.
Take Care,
Diane

Poinsettia Place Progress!

I've finished the second adorable little house. My whole family loves seeing the village come to life.

I liked the idea I read here of putting a candy cane border around the whole thing, so I started it while I was waiting to receive pattern #2. I really like it, and I am going to skip the candy cane borders along the top of each row.

Santa's House Finished

Hi, I finally finished the first house.  I have been busy making things to exchange for sponsorship to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society but I finally did it.  And I thoroughly enjoyed it.  It looks a lot brighter pink than it actually is but I love the look of it on the pink and am really glad I chose it.

Not sure when I will get the second one done because I have put the chart in a safe place...and no idea where that safe place was!

Poinsettia Place is done

I finished Poinsettia Place and love it. I'm stitching them separately and when they are all done, I'm going to make them into a quilt wallhanging.
I stitch each one on Belfast vintage beige 32 ct.

Greetings Everyone,

Here's my Santa's House finished.  For now, I'm just doing a basic little frame from Michael's, (4.19 with coupon), and I'm happy with the result.  I think I'd eventually like a big frame with 12 openings.

On to the next one!  Wade

Santa's House Finished

Santa's House
Finished Jan 31, 2013

I still haven't figured out how I'm going to finish these or if I'm going to stitch on different fabric, so I won't be starting the next one until I've figured that out.

Question on Finishing

Everyone's progress and finishes are looking great!

I'm just about to finish the stitching on Santa's House.  I've chosen to stitch each one individually.  However, I'm not sure how I want to finish the piece.

My initial thought was as a flat pinkeep type or stuffed pillow type ornament, but upon seeing just how large (even on 32 ct) these are going to be, I'm worried that it will be too large to hang on my tree.

Any suggestions?

North Pole Post Office is here

Just received my N.Pole Post Office pattern and I want to start on it now!!!!  Problem is I don't even have Santa's house finished yet.  I've been working on it at least an hr a night for the last week, I am such a SLOW stitcher.  I think most of this coming weekend and superbowl playing will be accompanied by my stitching.  I haven't had a "me" weekend in a long time.  I cleaned last weekend so I don't have to this weekend.  (no little ones in my house so it is easier to keep in decent shape).

How is everyoen else doing on theirs????

Poinsettia Place

Santa's house is no longer the only building in the little township. Poinsietta Place is now displaying as well. :)

Looking forward to receive the 3rd chart.

MY SANTA HOUSE

Well - I would have posted this a week or more ago but I was having trouble uploading JPG photos.  This very blurry photo is my FINISHED Santa House.  I am going to do all mine individually and recently took a class to learn how to make cubes.  I love how this came out.

This is the back - my fabric is a Moda fabric called Christmas Medley or something like that.  I don't have the ribbons garnishing the top yet but I will get it done soon.

Just in case anyone wants to know - I am stitching my series on PTP Sand linen 32ct.  I am using the button embellishment - I made a few little changes - I added 032 Krenik blending filament to one strand of white DMC so my snow would stand out a little more against the linen backround.  I also made Santa's beard and the chimney smoke a light gray.  I have not started Poinsettia Place yet but hope to soon.

I have enjoyed seeing all the finishes on this SAL and just haven't had time to comment on everyone's post.

Finished the second house in the series. I'll wait until I finish to add the buttons.

Part Two, Poinsettia Place, Finished

Hi everyone, I have now Poinsettia Place all stitched - I'm going to attach the buttons once all the parts are finished.
Looking forward to Part 3 now.

Katrina
A Kiwi Stitching

Starting over...yet again

I have started this project three different times, once on 40 count fabric, using one thread over two, then on 32 count fabric two different times, using two threads over two.  I just was not happy with it.  I think it is the first house.  It is not my favorite, but I love the other two!  And I love how they look together all on one piece of fabric.

So, I have ordered some 36 count Lakeside Linen in Country Mocha and hope to get started soon.  I hope to post a pic very soon after that of a finish!

Everyone's progress looks so good!

Another Poinsettia Place

Over the weekend I finished stitching Poinsettia Place.  I'm (obviously) stitching mine all together so my buttons are not sewn on yet, but my cardinal does have his tiny legs.  Can't wait to stitch the next chart, it's my favorite so far.

Happy stitching everyone!

Just to update: My fabric is Wichelt 32 count amber linen and I'm stitching 2 over 2.

My First Block Of Santa Village

This is my stitching of the 1st block of The Santa Village. I used all the called for floss and the linen. I did change up the berries to a satin stitch to give some texture. I am stitching them separate to make into stand up cubes with bows on top. Now on to number two!!!!

Going slow

I`m still waiting on my house thread so this is become slow going far.
When thread comes I know I won`t take long to catch up.
Already have pattern # two!

Since I finished the tree I sewed my star button on so that I wouldn`t miss place it.
That has happened to me before. I like how this is looking.
Using DMC v115 means that Santa still has his bright suit.
I gave him black mittens, belt and boots as Santa over here wears them.
I`m still stitching and hope by the time I`ve completed the other areas my thread will be here.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Santa's House finished

Hi!  I finally found a fabric I really like for my village, meadow mist 40 count.  I tried two others.  They just weren't what I was looking for.  I am now working on the second house. I have been a little preoccupied since Thursday.  So I hope to have it finished by the end of the week.  I hope y'all are stitching along too.

Happy Stitching!  Cindy

singles or together?

I was just wondering how many of you are stitching these as single pieces? I started mine as one piece, but I'm starting to have second thoughts...

lynda

Finished ...

the first one.  I really had fun stitching it, except for some reason I had issues counting.  So I probably ripped out half of this as I went.  At the end, I realized that I was still off a little with the tree, so I just added an extra layer of snow underneath.
Hopefully the next one, I'll rip a lot less.  I pulled the threads for Poinsettia House the other day.
